About Us

We believe the chaos of modern life has driven community online, where it does the least amount of good. Though much of modern life is to be lauded, we have lost community. We have lost being able to count on our neighbors. In our own small way, we’re attempting to revive that.

The Fair Oak Society is a social club that promotes free thought, local philanthropy and professional growth. Our membership is very diverse, from restauranteurs to dentists to technologists, from every socioeconomic strata. What unites us is the perfection of our craft and the joined application of those crafts for local benefit.

Expectations

We host a mandatory monthly meeting, though members do regularly collaborate on projects of commercial, political and social impact. We require 160 hours of such work per year. Each project is self-directed and voluntarily composed.  In lieu of membership dues, we require a $5k donation to a non-affiliated charity of your choice. This can be waived in rare circumstances.

Benefits

We look out for each other and our neighbors. When one of us needs help, the expectation is that a member with experience in that area offers to help. This extends to our local communities as well. You will know that no matter what life – professional or personal – throws your way, you can always count on your Fair Oak Society for help. You’ll also be exposed to new ways of thinking. Because the only factor of admittance is mastery, you’ll meet people of all races, economic statuses, educational attainment and genders.

We look forward to meeting you.
